EAADA 2011 Membership Form Now On-line
Article posted by donna.tribe on Dec 27/10
The 2011 EAADA Membership Form is now on-line. Click on the Edmonton Tab and go to forms.
The difficulties between the Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF) and Equine Canada (EC) resulted in a need for the Alberta Dressage Association (ADA) to reassess its insurance coverage. Because the local area Alberta dressage clubs, including the Edmonton Area/Alberta Dressage Association (EAADA), obtain insurance for their club events through the ADA our insurance was also affected. The assessment is now completed and the ADA has decided to change insurance providers from Capri (obtained through the AEF) to BFL (obtained through EC).
The biggest benefit of this change is that our members do not need to be affiliated with any other equine association to belong to the EAADA. With the Capri policy it was a requirement that our members were also AEF members, but BLF does not require our members to be EC members.
AEF membership did provide you with individual insurance coverage and it is likely that you will need proof of third party liability insurance to participate in horse shows or clinics – certainly the EAADA will be looking for this at our events! Also, your stable or your coach may also require you to have liability insurance. Determining what insurance you need and obtaining the correct coverage is your responsibility.
Insurance can be obtained through several sources:
1. AEF membership which includes insurance
2. EC membership which includes insurance
3. The EC Service Package
4. Through a private insurance provider
No matter how you obtain your insurance, be sure to check the coverage and ensure it meets your equine activity needs!

Edmonton Area 2011 Renewal Information
Article posted by carolinele on Dec 6/10
To all EAADA Members
The difficulties between the Alberta Equestrian Federation and Equine Canada have resulted in a need to reassess the Alberta Dressage Association insurance coverage, affecting how all the local area Alberta dressage clubs, including the EAADA, obtain insurance for their club events.
Changes to insurance coverage will determine whether or not EAADA members are still required to obtain AEF memberships, which they have been in the past. When the ADA decides where they will be obtaining their insurance coverage for the coming year, the EAADA will be providing current membership forms for renewal of memberships and obtaining new memberships. Hopefully, this will happen soon!
Stay tuned for further developments! |

“Three and a Half Mares” Semi-Precision Riding Team, put together an unforgettable performance on Sunday, October 17th at Trakehner Glen. What began as a means to improve and test their dressage skills, turned into a very successful fundraising initiative for the Alberta Junior Young Riders Dressage Association.
Accompanied by Big Band music by Bert Kaempfert called “Swingin’ Safari”, and choreographed by their fearless leader and coach Gillian Wright, the talented teams of Angela Congram on Alice, Hilary Plint on Soleil, Ulla Allen on Maya and Lorraine Zolkivski on Remi executed flawless symmetry in performing their quadrille, garnering countless smiles and cheers from the almost 25 invited guests. In addition, there were several individual kurs to complement the musicality of the afternoon, which included Christina Ezinga on Luke, Hayley van der Kloot on Mystere and finally, Dalyce Gagnon on Weynox.
It was an afternoon of fun, great comraderie and generous amounts of wine and cheese.
A big thank you to Angela who organized and orchestrated the entire event and to her husband Kevin who served the refreshments and special thanks to the Baehre's for being our gracious hosts. In all, the event generated over $550.00 in donations which will be presented by Dalyce Gagnon, on behalf of "Friends of Trakehner Glen" as a donation and show sponsorship to the Alberta Junior Young Riders Dressage Association. Thank you again to all who participated , attended and donated! Who knows, this may become an annual event!
