    CASINO MANAGER REQUIRED!!
Article posted by carolinele on May 6/10
The Alberta Dressage Association is looking for a volunteer to coordinate the casino that is held in Calgary approximately every 18 months. This casino is a primary source of funding for each of the dressage associations under the umbrella of the ADA. The ADA is responsible to provide the volunteer workers (bankers, cashiers, chip runners) at the casino for two days. The Casino Manager recruits the volunteers from each dressage association and schedules the volunteers into 4 shifts (2 each day). There is a small amount of administrative work to do, for example, completing any paperwork from Alberta Gaming and filling out the license application. It is also important to keep a good contact list of volunteers, their e-mail addresses, phone numbers, positions and times that they were available. Most of the work to organize the casino takes place a couple of months prior to the casino dates. If you are interested in this very important volunteer position with the ADA please contact Jean Duckering at 403-343-0173 or by email @ vjduckering@shaw.ca

Bonny Bonnello Earns a Personal Best in Kentucky Today
Article posted by on Apr 20/10

Bonny Bonnello and the Canadian Warmblood gelding, Pikardi, earned a score of 68.638% at the Kentucky Cup CDI 3* today. This was a personal best for Bonny and Pikardi. This is the pair’s second score over 66% leaving them in serious contention for a spot on the Canadian European Tour. The purpose of the European Tour is to gain exposure and recognition by international judges and to increase the exposure to international competitive experiences for targeted horse/rider combinations in preparation for the 2010 World Equestrian Games. There will be a maximum of six Canadian riders selected, and each must have achieved two scores over 66% in the 2010 show season.

In a recent interview with Robert Dover, the Canadian Dressage Technical Advisor, he indicated that even before he saw Bonny ride last December in Calgary, Alberta, he knew that she was a great rider. Most of the training prior to her trip to Florida this winter was on her own with this horse. Now that she is training in Florida, a lot has happened in a very short time and the road has not been easy for Bonny. It is just now that she is coming into a place where the harmony in the test and the talent of the rider and the horse will come out. No matter what happens with Bonny, Robert believes that she is one of the flagship riders that we want in Canada. She is not only a rider and trainer with immense talent but in order to produce a stronger National training program, she is one of our Olympians that we need to be involved.
