Farewell to Frowind
Article posted by cajonat on Sep 22/07

Friday September 21st Sharon Merkel- Beattie’s well known retired Grand Prix mount “Frowind” was humanely put down. After sustaining an injury to a previously compromised hind leg he was unable to get up and ended his life with friends and “ family “ around him. He was 24 years old. Frowind had a long and successful career which included being an integral member of two Can Am Teams as well as claiming the title of Reserve Grand Prix Champion of Canada two years in a row. He had many loyal fans who, even after his retirement in 1999, continued to visit and ask about him. There will never be another like him. His kind and generous presence is sadly missed at Windhaven.
